WELCOME LETTER

On behalf of the Organizing Committee and the Scientific Committee, it is my great pleasure and privilege to invite you to the DNSG 2020 - 38th International Symposium on Diabetes and Nutrition, which will be held in Platja d’Aro, Girona, Spain, on June 15, 16 and 17, 2020.

We assume the challenge of organizing the most important Symposium on an international level, on Diabetes and Nutrition that will be held this year in our country.

The symposium represents the annual meeting of the Diabetes and Nutrition Study Group (DNSG) of the European Association for the study of Diabetes (EASD), which annually hold this Congress to present the latest advances in translational research in food, nutrition and diabetes and stimulate scientific debate in this area of knowledge.

The slogan of the 2020 scientific program is: “Novel approaches on nutrition and diabetes: 2020 and beyond”. Highlighted international speakers will do a vibrant and rewarding event in Platja d’Aro (Spain), in which only is necessary your attendance in order to get successful the event.

This Symposium brings together clinicians, researchers and industry in an innovative program that includes plenary sessions, panel discussions and debate as well as oral communications and posters to encourage the integration and participation of young researchers. We are doing all this with great enthusiasm and motivation, to create a high quality, attractive, and innovative scientific program.

The Symposium will be developed without the concurrence of simultaneous rooms in a hotel somewhat separated from Platja d’Aro and in front of the sea, which will mean the possibility of a great exchange among the attendees of the event.

Platja d’Aro is a city located in the heart of the Costa Brava, one of the most admired corners of Catalonia for its pristine beaches clear and transparent. Platja d’Aro and the entire Costa Brava, offers visitors not only its beaches and coves but also endless routes on foot or horseback, as well as a rich cultural heritage to travel the history of humanity from the Paleolithic to the present.

The Costa Brava also offers a visit to various historical-artistic sites, castles and fortresses, Romanesque art, Jewish legacy and modernism that culminates with the Dalí triangle that includes the Salvador Dalí Museum, the Salvador Dalí house-museum and the Gala Castle Dalí.

We are proud to host DNSG 2020 - 38th International Symposium on Diabetes and Nutrition and promise an unforgettable experience in one of the best beautiful places of our country.

See you soon in Platja d’Aro in order to enjoy Science, without forgetting our Mediterranean gastronomy and culture.
